Lautsprecher als atmende Körper: In We stood where the air took form von Miles Friday sendet jeder Lautsprecher tieffrequente Drones aus, die Schwankungen im umgebenden Luftdruck erzeugen. Durch diese Luftdruckschwankungen dehnen sich aufblasbare Objekte aus und ziehen sich wieder zusammen. In der 32-kanaligen Klanginstallation werden die Lautsprecher zu einem Werkzeug der visuellen Synthese, in der die Objekte als kinetische Skulpturen zum Leben erweckt werden. Ihre kollektive Bewegung erschafft ein polyrhythmisches Feld, das sowohl sichtbar als auch hörbar ist.
We stood where the air took form is a 32-channel sound installation where loudspeakers become breathing bodies. Each loudspeaker emits low-frequency drones that produce fluctuations in the surrounding air pressure, causing the inflatables to swell and contract. By transforming the loudspeaker into a pneumatic pump, We stood where the air took form reimagines the loudspeaker as a tool for visual synthesis, where vibrations in the air animate inflatables as kinetic sculptures—synthetic, sonic lungs whose collective movement creates a shifting field of polyrhythms that can be both seen and heard.
